a boutique shop in the newly constructed Mamilla shopping
center. The shop carries only the Ahava brand, offering

OLD CITY TREASURES
Elia Photo Service
Elia Photo Service is a unique photography shop in
the Christian Quarter of Jerusalem’s Old City.
The store belongs to a family of Armenian photographers
who have been living in Jerusalem for many years.
The shop owner’s father, Elia Kahvedjian (1910
– 1999), was a prolific photographer of the
area. The shop offers his black and white photographs
for sale, as well as a compilation book that can be
used as a nice present, or can be used for reference,
as it contains stills of the Old City and the area
during most of the 20th century.

a welcome step back in time. Situated in the center

and light dairy meals. Tmol Shilshom has a menu of
salads, sandwiches, and pastas; however we recommend
the place not for the food but for its unique serene
Jerusalemite character. Inspired by bookstore cafes

Warning! This restaurant is very expensive but worth
it!
Tucked in a narrow alley in the center of Jerusalem,
is one of Israel’s leading restaurants - Arcadia.
Owned by creative chef Ezra Kedem, it offers a mix
of French cooking and Mediterranean cuisine which
makes full use of wonderful local ingredients. Arcadia
is set in an exquisitely renovated old building with
a dining area divided by stone arches into intimate
sections. Ezra Kedem devotes much of his time to traveling
around Israel and the world discovering new dishes
and exploring gastronomic tastes. He serves unique
local wines from small vineyards all over Israel and
cheeses from specialized farms in the Judean hills.
The restaurant offers a business lunch which is somewhat
cheaper than the
a la carte dishes. We recommend making a reservation
beforehand.

Tschako is an authentic eatery located in the heart
of Jerusalem’s Mahane Yehuda market. The restaurant
is owned by Ali Mizrahi, one of the first pioneers
who grasped the potential of developing Jerusalem’s
colorful market as a new gastronomic center. Tschako
offers a great meat menu with a Mediterranean flavor
and makes full use of the fresh products available
in the market. The bar is full at night and serves
tapas on Friday afternoons. The restaurant is kosher
and closed during the Sabbath. A good choice for lunch
or dinner.
