“Pishpesh Nights”

Jaffa’s Flea Market (Pishpeshim Market in Hebrew) is hosting special cultural events every Thursday night during the month of June. On a regular basis, the market attracts tourists and locals looking for antiques, gifts, Middle Eastern products and more. “Pishpesh Nights” is a project celebrating art, design and music, with the theme - “when the new meets the old.” There will be music, concerts, displays from students at top Israeli art schools, and special stalls of designers presenting unique products that are connected to the concept “when the new meets the old.” At the festival you can enjoy all the fanfare, and also sift through the regular market stalls.

Entrance is free
Dates: Thursday June 7, 14, 21, 28

Jerusalem International Jazz Festival

The second International Jerusalem Jazz festival will take place from June 19-22. The owners of Jerusalem’s Yellow Submarine music club came up with the idea for the festival last year, because they felt that Jerusalem’s universal appeal makes it the perfect setting for a festival celebrating the international language of jazz. The festival, set at three locales around the city: the Yellow Submarine, the Tower of David, and the Jerusalem Theater, will be hosting local musicians and jazz artists from around the world. The stunning courtyard of the Tower of David museum will be one of the main concert arenas, connecting the festival to the history and beauty of Jerusalem. During the festival there will be a fair open to the public in the David Park next to the museum and Jaffa Gate, and there will be tours leaving from the Tower of David before and after the concerts. At the Yellow Submarine you can catch master classes with visiting artists, followed by jam sessions into the night.

Dates: June 19-22
