Located around a twenty minute drive from Eilat, Timna Park is a multi-faceted nature reserve with a vast potential for filming. The site contains numerous attractions like the rock formations “Solomon’s Pillars” and “the mushroom,” and overall is a terrific place to film desert scenes. The location has uniquely colored and shaped mountains that make for interesting shots. Along with rock formations there are sand dunes at the park, archeological finds, including the oldest copper mine, and an authentic reconstruction of the tabernacle, which holds the Ark of the Covenant. You need special permission to film at the tabernacle.
