| The Jordan River
is one of the main sources of water for Israel. Surrounded
by trees, the Jordan River is rather calm during the summer
and rougher in the rainy winter months. The Jordan River
is a good location to film for general footage of a river.
Furthermore the river has religious significance: the Bible
talks about the river in several instances including when
Joshua led the Israelites across the river, and the New
Testament states that John the Baptist baptized Jesus in
the Jordan. Located in the north of the country the river
has tranquil surroundings, which is in contrast to the ongoing
political dispute between Israel, Syria, and Jordan over
the rights to the river.
