Christian Locations in Israel
The Jesus Trail route not only offers stunning footage from some of some of most spectacular landscapes in Israel but your documentary about this 65 km route can help bring to life biblical locations audience has previously only read about. Starting at Nazareth, the route winds through picturesque locations in the Galilee and comes right out on the shore of the Sea of Galilee. The trail was carefully mapped out by Dave Landis in 2007 and a number of staff and volunteers have helped launching and maintaining the only trail in the world where Jesus may indeed have walked. Before setting off on the trail, crews can explore the Christian scene in Nazareth and discover secrets of its gorgeous old city. The staff of Fauzi Azar Inn, owned by co-founder Maoz Inon, is a tranquil place to get a good night’s sleep with a hearty breakfast, as well as meeting and interviewing Christian pilgrims before the start of their route
The Jesus Trail leads pilgrims and hikers past locations such as Sepphoris, Cana, the Horns of Hattin, Tabgha, Mount of Beatitudes and Capernaum. Especially the view from Mount Arbel with its superb view over the Sea and the Golan Heights will delight photographers and DPs. The Jesus Trail is a great filming opportunity in Israel that covers the scenes of biblical miracles and places of Jesus’ ministry. The shore of the Sea of Galilee provides beautiful spots for stand ups, walk and talks, and of course plenty of b-roll footage. Some crews might be interested in checking out the Jesus boat in Kibbutz Ginnosar just a few minutes from Capernaum; a remarkably well restored ancient fishing boat that was exposed years ago when the Sea of Galilee water levels were extremely low.
Biblical Productions is happy to coordinate your filming along the Jesus Trail and we maintain excellent working relations with the Jesus Trail staff whose in depth knowledge can be utilized for interviews on locations as well.
